The Netflix documentary about the life of Matthew Perry is now streaming. In this three-part series The One About Matthew Perry we get a look at his career, his struggles with addiction.

We get to know the life and struggles of the man that made us laugh out loud so many times in his career.

The One About Matthew Perry features interviews with his sister and lifelong friends, sharing some heartbreaking details about his struggles with addiction.

Matthew once said he thought fame would make him happy, but even becoming one of television’s biggest stars couldn’t fill the emptiness he felt inside. In this series, Matthew’s sister reveals he spent millions trying to get sober, survived a near-fatal medical emergency, and really wanted to help others battling addiction.

She also remembers his incredible generosity and his gift for making people laugh, even in the toughest moments.

For so many years we knew him as Chandler on Friends. And he made us laugh so hard. He was talented and funny. But this is a reminder for all of us that sometimes the person who makes everybody laugh might be the one struggling more than we realize.

It was a shock when he died. To realize that he never got to beat his addiction. To know that he was hurting.

I remember reading his book shortly before he died and feeling so sad for all that he had been through and overcome. His death hit hard.

A man that had made us laugh out loud for so many years, gone too soon.
