The One With The 55 Candles

I’m going to share something with you.

This Saturday is my birthday. 55 candles on the cake this year. Gasp.

How did THAT even happen?

How do YOU celebrate your birthday? Are you someone who does it up big? Or would you rather the day just pass you by? If I won the lottery I’d get my favourite band (Duran Duran) booked to play a show just for me. (A girl can dream)

I think of my birthday like January 1st. It’s the beginning of a new year, new age. New opportunities. New dreams. New goals.

But it also comes with a lot of reflection. A lot of looking back on where I came from. What I’ve been through. The good days and the bad days.

I”m excited to see what 55 looks like.

This year, originally, I was thinking of finding a way to have a huge 80’s dance party. Because I love my 80’s music and going out dancing used to be one of my favourite things to do.

This year, my birthday will be in the middle of our camping weekend.

I prefer camping with cooler temperatures. And those fall colours are just incredible. Throw in turkey dinner and pumpkin pie in the middle of it and how can you complain? (smile)

I thought I would get YOU to help share in the celebrations with me – so I can make that 80’s dance party still happen.

I’m going to play my favourite 80’s songs through the afternoon on Thursday (I am off on Friday to get a head start on a special Thanskgiving/ birthday camping weekend!) and am looking for suggestions.
