New Music Monday – Olivia Rodrigo, Felix Cartal, Teddy Swims And New Album Releases
April 20, 2026 9:00 amGRAMMY Award-Winning singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo just released the new song “drop dead” from her upcoming third studio album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love”, which comes out June 12. The video was shot at the Palace of Versailles.
Felix Cartal and Vancouver artist Fionn have released a song that might sound familiar. It’s a reimagined version of Fastball’s “The Way”. Felix Cartal says, “I always felt the verses in The Way created this really specific mood, one that I thought would be cool to explore as the entire song. Fionn helped bring it to life in a way that was really exciting. …I can’t wait to play this song this summer. It’s just got that feeling to it.”
Teddy Swims has released a new song. “Mr. Know It All” is all about the pain of romantic self-sabotage. “Mr. Know It All explores the idea that love can become a self-fulfilling contradiction. When you believe you already know how it ends, you protect yourself by holding back and that distance becomes the reason it fails. But when you try to fight that fate and control every outcome, you can end up suffocating the connection. It’s about how both fear and control can quietly undo something real. It’s essentially a spin on Robert K. Merton’s concepts of self-destroying prophecy versus the self-fulfilling prophecy also known as ‘The Prophet’s Dilemma.’” – Teddy Swims
He performed the song live for the first time the first weekend of his Coachella set – which featured appearances from David Lee Roth, Joe Jonas, and Vanessa Carlton.
He just announced his 2026 THE UGLY TOUR – with a stop in Toronto October 5th at Scotiabank Arena
NEW ALBUMS OUT NOW –
Cameron Whitcomb has released his new EP, Deep Water. 5 tracks. Cameron says “This EP is honestly just me excited to get some new music out.” “2026 has been the best year of my life. It’s a mix of some more light-hearted, sappy love songs mixed with some very personal and vulnerable ideas. I think people are really gonna hear how much I’ve fallen back in love with songwriting. As always, please listen and take what you need. I love you.”
LØLØ is a Toronto-born singer-songwriter, who combines pop-punk and alt-rock with confessional grit. Her musical journey explores self-discovery, mental health, and growth. Since 2018 she’s released three EPs and her debut album Falling for Robots, and has just released her highly anticipated sophomore album, ‘god forbid a girl spits out her feelings!’ “The diaristic 13-track LP expands upon the raw, rebellious world she’s built over the years, leaning into sharp-tongued lyricism, dark humor, and unfiltered emotional honesty that captures every spiral, intrusive thought, and contradiction in real time.”
