Concert Review #6: Bush And Jerry Cantrell
August 29, 2024 8:50 amHey, folks it’s Steve, the Classic Rock 98.1 Intern! The 6th show of my internship was a blast of 90’s nostalgia at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage with Jerry Cantrell and Bush.
Jerry Cantrell kicked off his set with a blistering “Psychotic Break,” and quickly followed with Alice in Chains classics like “Them Bones” and “Man in the Box.” It’s been more than 30 years since I last saw Alice in Chains and I was reminded of how powerful these songs are in a live setting. Just before closing out his set, Jerry invited a friend of his, Dallas Frickin Green, on stage for a sublime rendition of Rooster which brought the house down!
Bush hit the stage with Gavin Rossdale leading the charge. They powered through a mix of new tracks and fan favorites, including “Machinehead,” “Glycerine,” and “Comedown,” which had the entire audience singing along. They even threw in a Beatles cover. The energy was fierce and the band didn’t hold back, delivering a strong performance. This band is still around after all these years and it’s shows like tonight’s that prove why.
All in all, it was a night of unforgettable performances, full of the 90’s era rock spirit that left everyone buzzing.
Thanks to Classic Rock 98.1 for another awesome night!
