MY BEST CONCERT EXPERIENCE WAS…

My best concert experience was my first stadium concert ever back in 1991. I was 16 and my older brother took a friend and I to see Van Halen at the SkyDome for their FOR UNLAWFUL CARNAL KNOWLEDGE tour. I’ve been a fan of Van Halen since 1984 and to finally see these guys in person blew my mind! Fun fact: I was so worried about being pick-pocketed at the concert that I safety pinned my pockets to make sure I didn’t lose my wallet so I could buy a T-Shirt. The opening band at the show was very unknown at the time and after a couple songs the crowd got restless and started chanting “Eddie! Eddie!” Eddie Van Halen came out briefly to keep the peace for the opening act but it didn’t help a lot. I was one of the “Eddie!” chanters. Van Halen didn’t disappoint, they played every song flawlessly and I had goose bumps all night. I only wished I appreciated the openers ALICE IN CHAINS just a little more! I did get my first VH concert T-Shirt that night though and kept my wallet!
