Your Weekend Playlist (Nov 30)
November 30, 2018 6:51 pmHere’s what we’re listening to this weekend, as we head into the Christmas season (no, actual Christmas songs…(pause ominously)…yet)
Led Zeppelin – Immigrant Song
I’ve had this song bumped up in my playlist since it showed up in the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok…and I will pull up the final battle of Thor kicking ass to this song on YouTube regularly because it’s amazing…and makes me feel like I could kick ass too. (Feel free to click on “YouTube” and enjoy the Thor scene too)
KISS – Cold Gin
KISS announced a second show in Toronto for their “End of the Road Tour” (get tickets HERE if you’d like). I saw them at CasinoRama last year, and they did this song as part of their encore…(Couldn’t find their version of O Canada from that show…and as much as I love the song from Bill & Ted’s, I just don’t hear Cold Gin enough)
AC/DC – Hells Bells
If you missed the video of the guy in Germany playing Hell’s Bells (HERE it is). While he does an admirable job…it doesn’t match the original. It’s always a good weekend for a little AC?DC
Cat Stevens – Father and Son
I’m a sucker for songs about dads and sons (read Cat’s in the Cradle), and I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on Netflix (Notice a trend) and this comes up at the end ***SPOILER ALERT*** NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YONDU!*** so I’ve been listening to this song
Greta Van Fleet – Highway Tune
And after bringing it right down, let’s end on a rockin’ note…and bookend Led Zeppelin, with a band building a rep as “Today’s Led Zeppelin”, immerse yourself in their biggest hit (so far) and feel free to go down the YouTube rabbit hole, for some of their other songs, like “When the Curtain Falls”, “Safari Song” and “Mountain of the Sun”
BONUS: Viral Video of the Week
The less I say about this…the better.
