Watch The World Record Teddy Bear Toss!
December 3, 2018 4:01 pmIt’s one of the coolest traditions in Minor Hockey…the annual Teddy Bear Toss.
Sunday night, fans in Hershey Pennsylvania set the new watermark for the Teddy Bear Toss, launching 34,798 toys onto the ice after the Bears tied up the game. Watch the video now,
This broke the record previously held by the Calgary Hitmen…(28,815 toys)…however the Hershey feat may have been more impressive. Calgary had almost 20,000 fans in attendance that night for a (rough) average of 1.5 bears per person. Hershey had just over 10,000 people in attendance on Sunday night…which worked out to roughly 3 toys per fan.
And if you missed the game at Budweiser Gardens yesterday…the London Knights did their Teddy Bear Toss too, collecting over 9000 toys!!! Congrats to everyone involved…here’s a video of what that was like. Locally, the toys were collected by the Salvation Army and will be distributed to the 6500 area children in need this Christmas.
