- Beer store donations: Habitat for Humanity and the Beer Store have partnered together to raise money for affordable housing. Until September 28th, you can donate your empty beer cans to the Beer Store for Habitat Heartland. Participating locations will be accepting donations, so spread the word.
- Strike votes begin: In contract talks, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario began strike votes Monday. In-person meetings will continue across the province until October 17th. Vote for the Thames Valley District School Board will happen on Thursday at Budweiser Gardens. Registration starts at 4 pm.
- Food plant to bring more jobs: Dot Foods Canada has officially opened its $50 million plant in Ingersoll. The 168, 875 square foot plant will be located just off of the 401 Highway at 100 Ken Mckee St. Currently, it employs 70 people but plans to employ 200 in the next three years. Dot Foods will also be donating $50, 000 to non-profit organizations in London.
