MY BEST CONCERT EXPERIENCE WAS…
September 5, 1992 was the day that changed everything for me. I was 17 years old and in Toronto to see my first big rock and roll show; U2, on their highly anticipated Zoo TV Tour! The show was held at the CNE stadium while the Ex’ was in full swing. We made it down to our seats on the floor: 22nd row, dead centre. The crowd welcomed 2 openers, the Disposable Heroes of Hiphopracy and Primus, but we were all there for the main event. As the sun went down, the open air stadium let in the swirling lights of the adjacent carnival and the occasional screams from roller-coaster riders. The house lights shut off and 100’s of screens on stage lit up. The crowd roared as The Edge’s guitar riffs filled the stadium. The band was in full-on Destroy-mode, as Bono sauntered across the stage to greet the sold-out crowd. U2 engaged and captivated fans by delivering a blistering set of career spanning music lasting 2.5 hours. I was birthed into rock n roll that night and I’ve been rockin’ ever since!
