- 1MillionMarch4Children protest: Thousands of parents and supporters have gathered all across Canada to march for sexual indoctrination of children in schools. More than 1,500 protesters gathered in London alone outside the Thames Valley District School Board HQ. With Dundas St serving as a divider, one side was there against gender ideology in school while the others stood to support the LGBTQ community. London Police sent about 80 officers to the scene to ensure the protest remained peaceful.
- Parental rights in the classroom: With all the controversy around gender education in school, a study shows parents would want teachers to notify them if their children want to change their pronouns. The poll suggests 78% of Canadian parents think teachers should inform them, while 14% believe that information should remain confidential. 8% of Canadians weren’t sure. Poll also suggests that most Canadians would be accepting if their child wanted to charge their gender identity although those opposing believe it would put the child at risk of violence or rejection from home.
- CUPE offices vandalized: Before Wednesday’s 1MillionMarch4Children protest, the CUPE education officers were vandalized overnight Monday. Laura Walton, President of the of CUPE’s Ontario School Boards Council of Unions claimed the words “transphobic bigots” were written on offices across the city. According to Media Relations officer Matthew Dawson, London Police are aware of the situation and an investigation is ongoing.
- Ashes on the Thames: On Wednesday morning the city announced an update to the Riverside Boat Launch. This will improve access to the water, more signage, and a space to spread loved ones ashes. It is not required to seek permission in order to spread ashes in London. The city just asked mourners to be cautious around the water and to clean up after themselves.
