Here’s what you should know for this weekend.

  • Youth wellness hub opens up: The Youth Wellness Hub has officially opened its doors to young people struggling with mental health and addictions. Located inside Youth Opportunities Unlimited at 332 Richmond Street, the space will provide support addressing mental health, substance abuse, education, employment, and much more. Associate Housing Minister Rob Flack said “The youth in our community desperately need a place to go for help that is geared to their unique circumstances. Receiving the help they need in a timely manner can be a key factor in successful outcomes and brighter futures.” Initially starting in July, the program has served over 80 young people in the community and is expected to annually serve 500 youth. The Middlesex location is just one of 22 other hubs in the province.

  • Downtown Candy Crawl is back: Even though halloween is on Tuesday, trick or treaters are expected to go downtown this Sunday. The annual Downtown Candy Crawl is back organized by several downtown businesses. The event has been running since 2019 and will take place Sunday at 3 pm. This year’s participating businesses include Budweiser Gardens, Grand Theatre, Eldon House, Covent Garden Market and many more. Full list can be found here. Attendees can participate in a costume contest by position a picture of their costumes online using the hashtag #LDNCandyCrawl. Prizes include Disney On Ice Tickets, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory at the Grand Theatre Tickets, $150 Downtown Dollars, spa treatments, Pokémon cards, comics, and gift cards from local businesses.

  • Summer-like weather eases up: With Friday hitting a record high of 22 degrees, Londoners have enjoyed the summer-like weather we have been experiencing. This will not last as temperatures will drop considerably next week. According to Environment Canada, today will be a high of 13C mixed with sun and cloud, Sunday high of 8C, Monday high of 8C and a high of 5C on Halloween.
