For Friday, April 17th:

Since her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome a couple of years ago, Céline Dion has been working towards returning to performing.  Her new song Dansons (French pronunciation) was released early today after several years away from the spotlight. She is also preparing to headline a five-week residency in Paris later this year.

The indie film “As Deep as the Grave” is using an AI-created Val Kilmer, and debuted a trailer this week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Kilmer had signed on to the movie years ago, and the film makers feel they’ve done it ethically, by working with his children and the actors union. Val Kilmer died last year at 65, of pneumonia.

Responding to reports that Christina Applegate has been hospitalized in Los Angeles since late March, her rep is basically saying “No comment.” Applegate has been open about her multiple sclerosis and how it affects her since her diagnosis in 2021.

In theaters this weekend, horrifying supernatural mysteries await in Lee Cronin’s ‘The Mummy’and Bob Odenkirk plays an unassuming substitute sheriff assigned to a quiet Midwestern town in ‘Normal’, which is anything but! Also in theatres, Saturday Night Live mastermind Lorne Michaels is the subject of the documentary ‘Lorne’.

ICYMI: Meghan Trainor is pulling the plug on her upcoming tour. After welcoming a third child early this year, the singer says she needs to be at home and present for her family at this time. She says her new album will be out soon and she promises to be back!

And Owen Riegling’s new album ‘In the Feeling’ is out today!
