Celebrity Status – Drake Record Break, Bruno Pop-up, And A Bachelor Proposal Do Over

For Wednesday, May 27th:

Joey Graziadei proposed to Kelsey Anderson at the end of his season of The Bachelor in 2024 — and now he’s done it again during a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico this week. They didn’t break up or anything. He said on social media that proposing a second time meant “making it fully our own.” He even gave her a new ring. Ummm, okaaaay…. And his bride-to-be said they will not be doing any sponsors or brand deals for their nuptials, which is kind of refreshing actually. 

Drake has broken the record previously held by Michael Jackson for the most No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo male artist. His single “Janice STFU” debuted at the top of the chart following the release of his trio of albums. With that accomplishment, Drake now ties Rihanna and Taylor Swift for most No. 1s across all acts with 14 chart toppers.
(There’s also something about beating Morgan Wallen’s record for most entries in a single week on the chart… but dropping three albums at once feels like cheating, so I’m not counting that lol ~Julie B)

The new series “Spider-Noir” debuting on Prime Video today stars Nicolas Cage as a more mature version of the superhero. Set nearly a century ago, Cage plays Ben Reilly, a private investigator and WWI veteran struggling to make ends meet in New York during the Great Depression.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus will make her Broadway debut this fall in the revival of a Tony-winning play. Ed Harris, Allison Janney and Joe Keery will also star in “Other Desert Cities.” The original premiered on Broadway in 2011, starring Stockard Channing.

And the pop-up shop collab with Hello Kitty for Bruno Mars’ Romantic tour, is at Yorkdale Mall this week if you’re heading to one of his shows in Toronto.
