Celebrity Status – Friends, Dolly Parton, And The Lawsuit That Just Won’t Go Away

According to Bryan Freedman, Justin Baldoni‘s lawyer, the actor/director scored a ‘huge victory’ in the settlement of the lawsuit with Blake Lively. Of course, no terms of the settlement were — or likely will ever be — disclosed, so I guess he can boast all he wants. Apparently, there is still a pending motion for him to pay Lively’s attorney’s fees. The parties released a joint statement which said, in part: “It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively.”

Personal items from Matthew Perry‘s estate are headed to auction next month in partnership with his foundation, which aims to reduce the stigma around addiction. Among the “Friends”-related items up for purchase are a collection of 26 scripts including “The One With Ross’s Tan” and the two-part series finale, “The Last One” plus two other scripts signed by all the cast.

On another Friends-related note, were Ross and Rachel really on a break on Friends? It’s one of the most contentious and enduring debates. Lisa Kudrow was asked about it on Jimmy Fallon this week and she said “Well, no. But it’s beyond that — he was a bad boyfriend.” To her surprise, the audience erupted in agreement. When David Schwimmer, aka Ross, was on Fallon in 2020 he definitively said they WERE on a break.

Dolly Parton has canceled her Las Vegas residency for a second time due to treatment for kidney stones and related health issues. In a video on social media she says ‘Some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit ‘swimmy headed.’  She is, however, currently working on writing a Broadway musical — ‘Dolly: A True Original Musical’ opening in New York this fall or winter, and she’s also opening a museum and a hotel in Nashville later this year.

Three years after Season 1 of ‘Citadel’ debuted, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci return as spies who are pulled back into action to stop a conspiracy. Season 2 arrives on Prime Video today.
