Celebrity Status – Michael And Drew, Spielberg Film, And Good Things

Michael Bublé originally from Burnaby, BC and Drew Scott, one half of the Property Brothers and Vancouver native, are teaming up for a Prime Video docuseries about the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) The six-part series will follow Bublé and Scott in their roles as part-owners  of the team, and is set for release later this year. Fun Fact: Michael Buble has been a part owner since 2008 and Drew Scott since 2023.

Numerous film critics posted their overwhelmingly positive reactions to the latest sci-fi thriller from Steven Spielberg. His UFO conspiracy thriller/alien-contact film, Disclosure Day, stars Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor. Some are calling it Spielberg’s best film in 20 years and Emily Blunt’s most accomplished performance. Disclosure day hits theaters on June 12; the final trailer is out now.

Good news for ​the Heated Rivalry ​fashion fans! Replicas of the fictional Team Canada fleece jacket worn by B.C.’s own Hudson Williams, as Shane Hollander, on the series will be available for pre-order beginning June 3rd through the collaboration with apparel company Province of Canada. Expect delivery by the time hockey season rolls around again.

Matthew Perry’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has been sentenced to more than three years in prison.
Iwamasa pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine in 2024, after injecting Perry on the day he died and other times. In their victim impact statements, Perry’s sisters expressed betrayal that his friend could inject him and “leave him in a hot tub to die.” The two were friends for 25 years.

And in the Good Things category… Theres’ a TikTok video of 8-year-old Madeline asking her musician neighbor Ethan to play a Taylor Swift song — by paper airplane, no less. When it went viral, Taylor Swift caught wind of it and sent both of them signed guitars and handwritten letters. To Madeline, she said “I’m sending you your own guitar in case you ever want to learn too!”
