Celebrity Status – Taylor, MET Gala, Box Office

For Monday, May 4th:

Known as the Oscars of fashion, The Met Gala is happening today. The annual fundraising event for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. And while it has officially been a decade since Taylor Swift attended the Met Gala, word on the street says that might change today. This year’s theme is “Costume Art,” and guests are invited to “express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied art form.” Considering how much thought Taylor Swift puts into her own tour costumes, hopeful fans think this would be the perfect opportunity for Taylor to walk the red carpet once again.

At the box office… despite some mixed reviews, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ strutted its stuff to lace with a $77 million debut weekend in North America. That’s all. Okay, not really. It bumped “Michael” to second place which made $54 million in its second weekend. Its running worldwide total is already $423.9 million. “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” rounded out the top 3.

On the small screen, ‘Citadel’ Season 2 with Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden tops this week’s watch list. The star-studded spy thriller returns to Prime Video on Wednesday. The season finale of the Rookie is on ABC tonight and on Thursday, it’s the season finale for Grey’s Anatomy.

In other headlines, Post Malone is going to postpone his shows with Jelly Roll, saying he feels the need to finish his album first.

And the winner of The Kentucky Derby was ‘Golden Tempo’, making history with trainer Cherie Devaux as the first female trainer to ever win the Run for the Roses.
