For Monday, June 8th:

Live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City last night, P!nk hosted the Tony Awards, opening the show with more than 170 Broadway performers joining her for the opening number — a rendition of “Lady Marmalade.” Meghan Thee Stallion and Neil Patrick Harris were also part of that. As for the awards, Best Musical was ‘Schmigadoon’ and Best Play went to ‘Liberation’ about the 1970s feminist movement. Best Leading Actor in a Play went to John Lithgow, and Laurie Metcalf won Best Featured Actress in a Play, plus The Book of Mormon celebrated its 15th anniversary and Chicago its 30th.

‘Scary Movie’ scared off the competition on opening weekend finding itself at the top of the box office with an estimated $55 million in ticket sales. Coming in second was the weekend’s other new opening, ‘Masters of the Universe’ with $29.3 million, followed by the A24 horror ‘Backrooms.’

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner got married — again! They hosted a second wedding ceremony at a luxurious Italian villa, with over 200 guests including Elton John, Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Joe Alwyn, Olivia Dean and Donatella Versace. The three-day celebration reportedly cost an estimated $1.73 million.

Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman and the crew will soon be back with a “demanding” season 3 of ‘Lioness’. The action-packed series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan returns August 2nd to Paramount+.

And British actor Anthony Head has died at the age of 72 from complications of pneumonia. He was perhaps best known on this side of the Atlantic for his roles in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and in ‘Ted Lasso’ as Rupert, the former owner of AFC Richmond, and Rebecca’s ex-husband.
