Celebrity Status – BBT Spinoff, Ali G Is Back, And Dame Julie A Gets A Doc

From Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music to The Princess Diaries and Bridgerton, Julie Andrews is a beloved favourite for generations of fans. And now fans will get a documentary celebrating her life and career covering everything from her early days in British vaudeville to her Hollywood success, including rare, never-before-seen footage and new interviews with Dame Julie herself. Look for it sometime next year on Disney+.

And on Prime Video, another Brit is getting her own documentary. Singer Lily Allen will serve as the basis for the currently untitled project. Set for release in 2027, it will reflect on her rise from MySpace and her earliest mixtapes and demos, to her latest album West End Girl, about the dissolution of her marriage to actor David Harbour.

Six years after his death, Chadwick Boseman’s brothers are accusing his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, of mismanaging his estate. Kevin and Derrick Boseman allege that she has not properly distributed the late actor’s estate. They are requesting that she be removed as administrator, saying his parents are entitled to 25 percent of his estate and that other assets were owed, including “royalties and residuals, image and intellectual property rights, and more.

Sacha Baron Cohen‘s directorial debut will see him directing himself… sort of. Before Borat there was Ali G, and he’s bringing back his iconic rude boy character for a new movie through Amazon MGM Studios. ‘Ali G: Who Iz I?’ will be in theatres October 23rd.

And today on Crave is the debut of ‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe’. The latest Big Bang Theory spinoff finds comic book store owner Stuart tasked with restoring reality after he accidentally brings about a multiverse Armageddon.
