Celebrity Status – Box Office, Jay-Z, DWTS And RIP Sam Neill
July 13, 2026 10:11 amFor Monday, July 13th:
At the box office, the live action version of ‘Moana’ met with some rough waters. It managed just a $43 million debut, and pales in comparison to Moana 2, which opened to $225.4 million in its initial 5-day release in 2024. Minions and Monsters secured the No. 2 spot in its second weekend in theaters, and Michael, the Michael Jackson musical biopic has now crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office
Jay-Z closed out his third and final show at Yankee Stadium last night with a show that started hours late. He made it worth the wait, bringing out Beyoncé, Rihanna, Usher, Teyana Taylor and more to join him, wrapping up after almost 3 hours at 3 am
‘Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro’ is a new reality show debuting tonight on ABC, that pits 12 up-and-coming dancers against one another for a chance to become a pro on Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars. So a competition show… to get on a competition show!
‘Hot Ones: Extra Heat’ is a special coming to Netflix tomorrow. Host Sean Evans and his spicy wings leave the studio and head to settings inspired by major moments on Netflix.
And Hollywood is mourning the death of Sam Neill, perhaps best known for the Jurassic Park movies. The family announcement today said it was sudden but that he was surrounded by family at home in Australia. Beyond his acting work, he operated the Two Paddocks winery near his home. Sam Neill was 78.
