Celebrity Status – Netflix Lawsuit, Spidey’s Brand New Day And Cardi B’s Butt
July 31, 2026 9:03 amFor Friday, July 31st:
At the movies, the big one swinging into theatres this weekend is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland. His wife Zendaya also stars, and after months of speculation about who Sadie Sink is playing in the movie, it is apparently revealed about halfway through. This is his Tom Holland’s seventh turn as Spidey/Peter Parker and says he has “a really clear vision to the passing of the baton” when the time comes. However, he’s down to play Spider-Man for as long as they’ll have him.
On streaming, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now on Disney+… and on Netflix, ‘Max’ is the story of
a battle-scarred combat dog who helps his former handler’s grieving family to heal. Pretty sure we’re going to need a tissue or two for that one.
And Netflix is being sued by the filmmakers of a yet to be released Nicolas Cage movie after a copy they were given for consideration was allegedly stolen. “Fortitude” also stars Ben Kingsley, Ron Perlman and Michael Sheen. Netflix, for its part, says the film was delivered unencrypted, without the proper industry-standard safeguards.
Ariana Grande’s new album ‘Petal’ is out today and introduces an angry Ari, according to reviews. Although it’s hard to imagine her voice sounding very angry, it can be heard in some of the NSFW lyrics.
And here’s a headline for the week, ICYMI (and if you even care) Cardi B is confirming this week that she had her butt injections reduced. I will say I was NOT wondering that… but now I don’t have to lol!
