Celebrity Status – Bey And Jay, New Movies And Here Comes The Judge!
August 7, 2026 9:44 amFor Friday, August 7th:
Beyoncé and Jay-Z teamed up this week for their first music collab in seven years for the remix of Beyonce’s “Morning Dew (Donk)” which was just released a month ago. The song will be included on the 20th Anniversary edition of her album B’DAY which comes out next month for Beyonce’s 45th birthday.
At the movies, ‘One Night Only’ is set in an alternate America where premarital sex is outlawed every day of the year, except August 7th, and only for 12 hours. Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner star, along with Maya Hawke and Molly Ringwald. Also in theatres, an idyllic summer town descends into madness in the horror ‘Ice Cream Man’, starring Eli Roth… and the ‘Super Troopers’ are back for a third movie.
Coming to Netflix today, a family is mysteriously sealed inside their home with dwindling resources and an ominous force keeping them trapped in ‘The Last House’…in LA there’s a man living in a billboard living room to promote the movie.
Carson Daly says he’s not leaving “The Voice” but Keke Palmer will be taking over as host of the upcoming spinoff, “The Voice: Celebrity.” He says the new series is a “fun, new idea” that he’s “been talking about on ‘The Today Show’ for a while now,” but he is “not the right host for it. We’re all big fans of Keke and welcome her to the family.”
For fans of Judge Judy, court is (almost) back in session. “Adam’s Law” is a new syndicated daytime court show led by Judge Adam Levy, who just happens to be the son of Judge Judy, aka Judith Sheindlin. She created the show, which is set to premiere Sept. 14th; the trailer is out now.
