Celebrity Status – Box Office, Clooney In Venice, And Finneas Ties The Knot

Billie Eilish was there when her brother Finneas O’Connell tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Claudia Sulewski, this past weekend. In fact, she officiated the ceremony in Montecito, CA. Guests included Billie’s boyfriend Nat Wolff, Nina Dobrev, Kristen Bell and the Biebers, among others.

Tom Hardy, under the alias Frankie Pulitzer, has released a 15-track rap album with Czarface. The record also features Busta Rhymes and Method Man.

At the box office, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” continues to dominate in week 5, with $22 million. ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ surged past expectations, snagging No. 2 with $15.4 million. It’s an interesting mix of live action and animation. Elsewhere, Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars” a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Jacob Elordi and Margaret Qualley, bombed with just an $8 million premiere on an estimated $70–110 million budget.

In other movie news, a new Pokémon movie is headed to the big screen. ‘Pokémon: Wild Card’ was announced Sunday night during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco. Meanwhile, 2027 also will see the debut of a Pokémon series on Disney+, called The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu.

Laura Dern will give the speech honoring George Clooney at the opening ceremonies of the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday where he will receive a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. He is one of only three people to have been nominated in six different Oscar categories throughout his career.
