Celebrity Status – Dino Movies, Daisy Chains, And Selena Is Being Sued!

At the Movies, Spider Man keeps breaking records. ‘Brand New Day’ has become the fastest movie to hit $700 million at the domestic box office. New this weekend… in a bit of an homage to Jurassic Park, Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor are running from dinosaurs in “The End of Oak Street.” One review praised it as ‘dumb fun done well’… 

Also in theaters, more dinosaurs! It’s “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie”, and Mason Thames stars in the Green Day-inspired ‘Nimrods’… no dinos there, we don’t think lol.

On TV, it’s the season finale of ‘X-Men ‘97’, plus the Jonas Brothers are singing a new tune in the ‘Camp Rock 3’ movie, with a new generation of singers and musicians on Disney+ today. Demi Lovato also returns as Mitchie Torres… And the series debut of ‘Lanterns’ lights up the DC Universe Sunday night on HBO, starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre.

The Daisy Chain Fields festival with Olivia Rodrigo is coming up on August 29th. It’s a benefit festival supporting women and girls, and Stevie Nicks has been added to the lineup, which already includes Doechii, Chappell Roan, Garbage, and Sarah McLachlan among many others

Selena Gomez is being sued for alleged fraud by investors who say she failed to fulfill her duties to build and promote her mental health startup. They argue that Gomez and other company leaders failed to deliver on promises, including – but not limited to – creating a mobile app and the timely paying of its employees and vendors.
