Celebrity Status: Mount Forest Of Survivor? And RIP Tim Curry

Tim Curry, who shot to stardom in his signature role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the corset-wearing “sweet transvestite from Transsexual Transylvania” in the 1975 cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, died Tuesday at his home in L.A.’s Toluca Lake neighborhood. He was 80.

His death was confirmed by longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz, who said the actor passed away peacefully but did not provide a cause of death. Curry, a three-time Tony Award nominee, had been in precarious health since suffering a major stroke in 2012. He had used a wheelchair since the stroke and the brain surgery that followed.

In addition to Rocky Horror, Curry portrayed the evil, grinning clown Pennywise in ABC’s 1990 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s It, as well as memorable roles in such films as Annie (1982), Clue (1985), Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), Addams Family Reunion (1998) and Scary Movie 2 (2001), among many others.

Barry Keoghan is back in the Top Boy world.

The Saltburn star has agreed to reprise his role as Jonny McGee for a five-part Netflix prequel series, which will be written by Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett.

McGee was an antagonist in Season 5 of Top Boy, a high-ranking member of the Irish mob who distributed drugs in London for his uncle, Tadgh McGee.

Survivor season 51 is set to premiere Wednesday, Sept. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. And, one of the contestants is originally from Mount Forest. Danny “Kilby” Kilby, a 30 year old game designer, who now calls London home.
