For Tuesday, September 8th:

Rob Reiner won a posthumous Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series at the Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday for his role in The Bear. He beat out the likes of Michael J. Fox, Brett Goldstein and others for the honour. His first (and most recent) acting Emmy win, was for All in the Family in 1978. His father, Carl Reiner, previously held the record for most years between wins at 37 years.

Other big winners included Mariska Hargitay, taking home two for her documentary My Mom Jayne… Jimmy Kimmel won Outstanding Host for a Game Show for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? PLUS The Late Show With Stephen Colbert also won five Emmys for its final season. And the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny scored seven trophies. The rest of the Emmy Awards will be handed out next Monday on the televised ceremony.

At the box office “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has claimed the top spot for the sixth straight week, with another $18 million over the long Labor Day weekend. It has now brought in $918 million in North America  since its July 31st release — and an additional $1.48 billion internationally. Christopher Nolan’s epic “The Odyssey” took the second spot, and third place went to the mixed animation-and-live action Looney Tunes flick “Coyote vs. Acme.”

Fourteen concertgoers in San Jose were hospitalized on Friday night during a show by The Chainsmokers. Officials said drugs and alcohol were contributing factors along with heat and dehydration.
