Celebrity Status – Kimmel, Mulaney, Zelda And The View Pulls An Oprah

As part of The View’s 30th season, they’re celebrating 30 days of 30 giveaways throughout the season. Some of the studio audience was moved to tears yesterday on the season premiere when the show ‘pulled an Oprah’ and gave everyone a trip to Mexico.

PageSix.com reported Tuesday night that the next season of Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be the last one, with a source saying Kimmel’s contract would not be renewed after 2027. But a spokesperson for ABC said the “information is inaccurate — any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”

ICYMI: Jay-Z surprised his wife with a sweet tribute at his London concert on Friday. He led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Beyoncé as she celebrated her 45th trip around the sun. Beyoncé also celebrated the 20th anniversary of her sophomore album B-Day, which was released on her 25th birthday in 2006.

While ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ still sits atop the box office, Sony pictures is already thinking “What’s next?” FYI, it’s their co-production with Nintendo, a live action take of the video game Zelda, which will be called ‘The Legend of Zelda’ after the first game in the series way back in 1986. Look for it in theatres April 30, 2027.

And even further down the line, John Mulaney is eyeing the role of Agent Maxwell Smart in Warner Bros. upcoming movie reboot of “Get Smart,” according to Variety. The movie was first adapted for the big screen in 2008, with Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart. The latest incarnation has no release date just yet.
