For Friday, October 30th:

Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for portraying Jean-Luc Picard on ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation‘ and Professor Charles Xavier in the ‘X-Men’ films, has died at 86. According to his family the beloved actor experienced ‘a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia.’ Tributes all mention his talent, his philanthropy, his intelligence and grace. He once told the story that when he was offered Star Trek: The Next Generation, his good friend Sir Ian McKellen said ‘Don’t take that job.’ He told him it would ruin what he had going on as a stage actor in London’s West End. McKellan has since apologized. We will see Patrick Stewart one final time later this year as Professor Charles Xavier in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’

At the movies, the war movie ‘The Mosquito Bowl’ is set after the attack on Pearl Harbour in WWII. It stars Nicholas Galitzine, Tom Francis, Bill Skarsgård, and Ray Nicholson… ‘Christmas at the Kringles’ stars Rachel Bilson and Rob Riggle who move to a suburban neighborhood where their neighbors, the Kringles, celebrate Christmas year-round and harbor sinister intentions.

Also in theaters, ‘The Mongoose’ stars Liam Neeson as a war hero falsely accused of a crime. He leads police on a televised cross-country car chase with help from his former special forces battalion. Marisa Tomei, Vhing Rames and Michael Chiklis also star.

Friday on Netflix it’s the SCTV documentary ‘The Greatest Show You’ve Never Heard Of’… also, ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ has its season premiere on Paramount+… and a new season of ‘The Gilded Age’ premieres Sunday night on HBO Max.

Plus, last year, Downtown Stratford was transformed into the set for a Christmas movie. And today, we can see Stratford as the backdrop for “Pining for Douglas,” premiering at 8PM on W Network!

“Obsession” star Inde Navarrette hosts “SNL” with musical guest Gracie Abrams.
