George Strait To Receive Career Maker Award At Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame

George Strait will be honoured at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony on October 26 at Nashville’s Music City Center.

Strait will receive the Career Maker Award, recognizing his decades of support for Hall of Fame songwriters.

Over his 40-plus year career, he recorded 264 songs written or co-written by 72 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame members.

“I’m so honored to be receiving the Career Maker Award,” Strait said.

Reba McEntire is the only previous recipient, honoured in 2018.

This year’s inductees include Taylor Swift, Bruce Channel, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, and Lee Thomas Miller.

Hall of Fame songwriter Gretchen Peters called having Strait record her song “a stamp of approval from Country music itself.”
