Reba McEntire Missed Dolly Parton’s Final Call Before Her Death

Reba McEntire has opened up about missing a call from Dolly Parton shortly before Parton’s death on August 25, following a brief battle with cancer.

McEntire told ET she was in a meeting when Parton called in late July and was unable to reach her afterward.

“I tried to get back in touch with her and I couldn’t, never made a connection. And then when my buddy called me and said, ‘Dolly’s gone,’ I thought, ‘I’ll never know why she called me.'”

The two collaborated on “Does He Love You” in 2021 and co-hosted the 2019 CMA Awards.

McEntire later performed a tribute at the Emmys and posted a heartfelt farewell on X, writing, “There will never ever be another you.”
