Riley Green Initially Unsure About “Worst Way”
September 15, 2026 9:00 amRiley Green admitted he had doubts before releasing “Worst Way,” one of his most popular songs.
Speaking with Pat McAfee on Spotify, Green said,
“I hadn’t really written a love song and that was a little forward. I thought, man, is this okay? Is it going to work?”
The song became a major hit. Green says he intentionally steps outside his comfort zone musically with each record.
His new album, That’s Just Me, drops September 18.
Green also noted he always returns home to Alabama to write, keeping his small-town roots and family values central to his music. “I always try to go home and write at least four or five songs,” he said.
