Wellness Wednesday – The Importance Of Mental Health – A Conversation With Life’s Seasons Care & Support
May 13, 2026 1:45 pm“… the thing with trauma. It is not WHAT HAPPENED. It’s how YOU experienced what happened. You bring your experience to us and you do not have to sit or meet any kind of checklist that proves your trauma was traumatic enough for help or support. If you feel it impacted you in any kind of way that is now effecting your day to day functioning, your happiness, your joy, your ability to feel okay, then you deserve be able to talk about that with somebody. It’s not about NEEDING TO GET HELP, it’s about deserving to be heard.”
This week, the focus is on our mental health, and understanding the impacts of trauma, with the help ofLife’s Season’s Care & Support on London Road, in Sarnia. They offer trauma specialized counselling.

Listen in as we have a super important discussion about what trauma is and how it affects us individually and as a community and what we can do to process what we are feeling. Because as we learn, trauma doesn’t just go away. It’s something our nervous system holds onto. It can show itself with physical symptoms – trouble sleeping, tension, anxiety, exhaustion, irritability, or the feeling of on edge.
We talk about what happens when we go through tragedy as a community and what can we do about it to help move forward through it.
“We shouldn’t be OK with injustice, but that can’t be the sole focus.”
Find a way to share and connect. “The smallest gestures we do in support – whether it’s changing the colours of our lights, or wearing a ribbon – they are little things that matter because you can glance to the person next to you and know, ‘you also care’. The biggest, biggest, biggest impact we’re going to have positively is feeling like we belong.
