Luke Combs Makes History
February 26, 2019 5:15 amLuke Combs makes Billboard history as the first artist to chart all five of their first singles at Number One, thanks to his latest hit, “Beautiful Crazy.” The song claims the top spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart this week.
“Beautiful Crazy” was co-written by Luke and only took 16 weeks to get to Number One, tying it with his equally fast rising single, “She Got The Best of Me,” which held the Number One spot for four weeks in October. All five songs are included on Luke’s 2017 debut album, This One’s For You.
Despite his string of chart-topping hits and packed concerts, Luke said his past success doesn’t add any pressure to what he’s working on for his next project.
“I don’t think so, you know? Obviously you are always critical of yourself and songs that you write, but I’m a lucky dude, I think, and it’s not anything that I do any better or any different than anyone else. We have something right now that fans at country radio love and our fans want to buy tickets for, so we’re just gonna enjoy it while it’s here and it could all be gone tomorrow, you know? I mean, who knows, so I just try to enjoy the moment and not get too caught up in ‘why did it go Number One so quick’ or ‘why do people want to hear it so much?’ I think once you do that you start kind of watering down the reason you’re doing it.”
Meanwhile, Luke met a special friend at one of his weekend concerts.
