Brooks & Dunn Going Into The Country Hall Of Fame

Brooks & Dunn, comedy singer Ray Stevens and producer and former label head Jerry Bradley are all headed into the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame.

WSM radio personality Bill Cody stepped in for an ill Reba McEntire to make the announcements on Monday, March 18th during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.

A still-shocked Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks said the honour hasn’t really sunk in yet, but Brooks said it’s the ultimate in Country music.

“For lack of any other better way to explain it, all of those awards that we’ve gotten are all ‘of the year.’ This is such a . . . you don’t know where it starts or where it ends or anything else. It’s just sort of the biggest thing that our industry has to say, ‘You did good and we’re recognizing you forever.'”

A formal induction ceremony for Brooks & Dunn, Stevens and Bradley will take place at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in the CMA Theater later this year.

Since 2007, the Museum’s Medallion Ceremony, an annual reunion of the Hall of Fame membership, has served as the official rite of induction for new members.

Brooks & Dunn will be inducted in the “Modern Era Artist” category, Stevens will be inducted in the “Veterans Era Artist” category, and Bradley will be inducted in the “Non-Performer” category.
