Old Dominion On The Road Again With Some Help

Old Dominion‘s Matthew Ramsey is sitting in style on Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl’s iconic light up guitar throne that he used on tour.

Old Dominion had to postpone some of their 2019 Make It Sweet Tour dates including Caesar’s Windsor February 14th,  to accommodate Ramsey’s leg surgery in January after an old injury flared up. Since the procedure, he has used crutches to get around.

Luckily for Ramsey, Grohl lent a hand by sending him the customized throne that he used while touring in 2015 after he broke his leg while playing a show in Sweden. He also had to undergo surgery and had an extended time to heal.

“Hearing the recovery time after this procedure was a bit of a blow. I knew I did not want to disrupt our tour for that long,” Ramsey tells People.

The idea to obtain the throne began as a joke, Ramsey explains. Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose has also borrowed the throne before.

“So many jokes were thrown around about using Dave Grohl’s throne, finally we just decided to ask and see what happened. I’m sure Dave didn’t know that when he created this thing, everyone would want to use it. But, it has been an honour to sit on, and more importantly, it’s allowing us to keep the show on the road. Our fans are truly grateful. We owe him big for that.”

The band’s Georgia show on Feb. 27 was the first show Ramsey performed since the surgery and with the throne. He revamped the throne with one major touch, adding Old Dominion’s logo in place the Foo Fighters’ logo.

Old Dominion and Jordan Davis are coming to Caesar’s Windsor June 13th.

See you there!
