Thomas Rhett Doesn’t Expect To Win At CMA Awards
November 12, 2019 4:00 pmThomas Rhett is no stranger to industry awards, having a growing collection to his credit already, but he said going into the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 13th, he doesn’t have high expectations.
“I don’t know, it’s gonna be really fun. Every time I’m nominated, I go in with very low expectations for myself, but it’s always super cool when you do win, but just at the same time, this year to be nominated for Male Vocalist and Record of the Year – or Album of the Year, or whatever you wanna call it – is about the coolest award that I could be nominated for because you do spend so much time on the road writing and figuring out what the direction of the album is gonna be, and when you have that many people that have voted for an album like that, to be one of the top five or six is just mind-blowing, so really excited. The CMAs are like one of my favourite nights of the year. I get to see everybody and get to dress up and it’s just gonna be a fun night.”
Besides being nominated, Thomas will be performing his latest single, “Remember You Young,” on the 53rd Annual CMA Awards, airing live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at 8 p.m. on ABC.
