Carly Pearce Says ACM Nod Is A Dream
April 15, 2021 5:39 amCarly Pearce is both a nominee and performer at this weekend’s ACM Awards.
She is nominated in three categories — Single and Musical Event of the Year for “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” and Female Artist of the Year.
All of the nominations are meaningful to Carly, but being included in the Female Artist of the Year category is something she has always dreamed about.
“When I think about being nominated for Female Artist of the Year, I think about the dreams that I’ve had of being nominated in this category. I think as a woman in country music, if you grew up the way that I did, wanting this so badly, you dreamt of your name being called in that, and so I truly am not just saying this. I feel like I’ve already won just being in those five.”
Carly faces competition from Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert in the Female Artist category.
Carly will also be performing “I Hope You’re Happy Now” for the first time with Lee Brice on live television.
The ACM Awards airs on Sunday, April 18th on CBS beginning at 8 p.m.
