30 Years Later The Kentucky Headhunters Will Make Their Opry Debut
December 2, 2021 6:26 amYou may not be familiar with The Kentucky Headhunters, but 30 years ago they were invited to make their Grand Ole Opry debut, and even though it would be a career boost, they said no.
Opry honcho Roy Acuff said they had to get haircuts before performing, and they refused.
Sticking to the guns paid off, and singer Richard Young says this Saturday, December 4th, they will make their Opry Debut.
“It’s a new milestone in our career that we never thought would happen. We are so looking forward to our first appearance on the Opry stage in 30 years. We still got our hair, too. Well, most of it.”
Here’s another reason to love these guys. They recorded their first Christmas song.
It’s called “Let’s All Get Together and Fight”, and it’s inspired by the family arguments they ALWAYS have at the holidays.
