Life Imitates Art For Russell Dickerson
January 13, 2022 7:00 pmRussell Dickerson’s latest hit, “Home Sweet,” turned out to be the story of his life.
He co-wrote the song in 2018, two years before Russell and his wife, Kailey, welcomed their first child, son Remington.
Russell said life imitated art in the case of “Home Sweet.”
“Then, it was kind of like how I saw my life panning out, I guess. Really it just came true. We literally like moved into our new house and probably a week later found out we were pregnant, and so literally we were sitting on boxes and looking at two pink lines. It’s one of those things that you just can’t make up, and like the song just literally kind of like came true for us, like one of those things you speak into existence, I guess.”
“Home Sweet” is included on Russell’s 2020 album, Southern Symphony.
