Shane Yellowbird Dead At Age 42
April 27, 2022 5:22 amCanadian country singer Shane Yellowbird has died at the age of 42.
The Canadian Press talked to fellow artist Crystal Shawanda, who met Yellowbird in 2008, who said he died earlier this week.
Shane’s sister Chelsea Yellowbird also issued the following statement.
“On behalf of the Yellowbird and Buffalo family, it is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Shane Ryan Yellowbird. Shane was 42 years old residing in Calgary, Alta., when he took his last breath. Our brother was a talented artist who loved his children, music and sports. We are all deeply struck by the tragedy and ask for the respect and privacy of this time to mourn the loss of our loved one. Funeral services will be held in his hometown of Maskwacis on April 29 at 10 a.m.”
Yellowbird, best known for the song “Pickup Truck,” won the Rising Star Award at the Canadian Country Music Awards in 2007.
