Jackson Dean Got To Help Tag Sharks
November 18, 2024 5:50 amWhen Jackson Dean played at the 2024 Tortuga Music Festival, he got the chance to participate in a shark tagging expedition.
The festival has donated over $5 million to ocean and marine life research and conservation, and Jackson loved helping tag the sharks.

You got three people on the line when you’re reeling ‘em in. So, I was second man in line and we got about a five and a half foot, six foot sand shark. It was really cool, took samples out of it. It’s figuring out what they’re doing. It’s tracking them and it’s all research driven. And I didn’t realize how many sharks are killed a day around the world, and it just didn’t make any sense to me. Unless it’s trying to kill you, why do you need to kill a shark?”
