How Zach Top Found Out About His CMA Nomination

Zach Top is, quote, “Not on socials” . . . so it makes sense if he misses the news on occasion.  But it must be strange to find out that you were nominated for a CMA Award because you got a “congratulations” text from a friend.

No big deal, Zach is just up for New Artist of the Year against some of the most popular artists out there right now, like:  Megan Moroney . . . Shaboozey . . . Nate Smith . . .

Mitchell Tenpenny . . . and Bailey Zimmerman.

Here’s what Zach had to say, “Somebody just texted me, ‘congratulations.’  So I texted back and was like, ‘Thanks.  For what?’  And then they sent me the screenshot from Instagram saying I was nominated.”

And maybe it’s the craziness of life on the road that gets in the way, too.  He also mentioned how hard it is to be a travelling musician.  Zach said, “I never wake up in the same town.  I wake up somewhere else.

“I’ve got to figure out where I am the next morning.  So, there’s a lot of changes for sure, and I’m grateful for a lot of them.  There’s a lot of them that I’d rather live without, you know . . . kind of makes me miss the way I grew up.”
