Thomas Rhett Once Had Blake Shelton Help Him With Homework
September 16, 2025 8:00 amThroughout the summer, Thomas Rhett has been releasing updated versions of his About A Woman album, with brand new songs added each time.
It’s been leading up to the final installment, which will be the complete Deluxe version of “About A Woman” with a total of 11 additional tracks added to the original 14 songs on the original album.
One of the songs on About A Woman (Deluxe) is a duet with Blake Shelton called “Old Tricks,” which is kind of a funny full-circle moment for Thomas, who first met Blake because he was a friend of his dad, Rhett Akins, who was a touring country music artist in the 90s.

He was at the house hanging out with dad and I showed him my paper and he helped me correct the paper. I think I got a B on the paper, more than I expected, I guess.”
