Kacey Musgraves Puts Old Feud With Miranda Lambert In The Past With New Collaboration

In a new interview with NPR Kacey Musgraves confirmed her long-rumoured feud with Miranda Lambert

The tension stemmed from a 15-year-old incident involving “Mama’s Broken Heart,” which Musgraves wrote while at Warner/Chappell.

“It was gonna be my first single, and I loved the song so much. Then, the song gets pitched to [Miranda] without my consent or knowledge.”

Lambert recorded the track for her 2011 album, Four the Record, where it peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2013.

After years of not speaking, Musgraves recently reached out to Lambert about collaborating on her new track, “Horses and Divorces.”

The 8-time Grammy winner says that during the recording session, “We aired out any of the old laundry. We had some laughs and wrote the song in a matter of a few hours.”

The duet will appear on Musgraves’ upcoming album, Middle of Nowhere, set for release on May 1 via Lost Highway.
