Parents Issue Hilarious Warning After Accidentally Baking ‘Elves On The Shelf’

A Kansas City mom says her Elves on the Shelf got a little more than they bargained for while “warming themselves up” in the family’s oven.

After a day in the fridge, Chelsea Hightowers’ three elves, Jingle, Bell, and Magic, decided to warm up in the family’s oven.

Photos show the elf trio sitting on an oven rack, wrapped in paper-towel blankets with a sign reading: “It’s a lot toastier in here.”

At some point during the day , her husband Matt turned on the oven

The damage had already been done. Thankfully, their two youngest children were playing in another room and didn’t see the carnage.

Thank goodness Elfs don’t magically feel pain, they were charred and crispy, definitely got a tan that day.

The elves ultimately recovered — and showed up on the counter with a soot on their cheeks and a box of cookie mix, and the message to parents the next day –  “Bake cookies, not elves.”
