An 80-year-old woman in Illinois was taken hostage in her home this week, and her family knew something was wrong because she didn’t read text messages or share her Wordle score on social media and with them.

Denyse Holt woke up in her home Illinois early Sunday morning and saw a naked man holding scissors in her bedroom. For 17 hours he held her hostage and disconnected her phone lines.
While Denise was trapped and worried for her safety, her oldest daughter in California was growing concerned that her mom had not texted her Wordle score.
Her other daughter, who also lives on the West Coast, noticed her mother had not responded to text messages.
The women eventually asked police to do a wellness check, and officers discovered a broken window on the first floor and Denise locked in a bathroom.

The man has been arrested, Police say he has a history of mental illness.
A terrifying ordeal – Denise and her family hopes others can learn from, the importance of staying in touch with loved ones.

By the way, people are complaining that WORDLE is “broken” after having two right answers in one day. This comes after the New York Times bought the game and moved it to their website. The “New York Times” said they were adjusting the master word list, and so everyone just needs to refresh their browser.
