Think back to your high schools Cafeteria, likely there’s one thing that was so special you got it almost every day. That was the case for the past 30 + years at GENERAL AMHERST and their ‘Caf Cookies’! 🍪

These ‘world famous’ chocolate chip cookies have been for sale at General Amherst High School since the 60s and are still raved about!
I spoke with GREG SCOTT, head of Physical Education and Athletics, and one of the organizers of the General Amherst High School 100 Year Celebration  , about the nosalgia of these treats and how the public can snag these cookies for themselves.

The event, which is set to take place on Saturday, May 14th from 12pm to 7pm. Both inside and outside the school will be available to visit, including Bill Wigle Park located next to the school, which is set to host several activities throughout the day.

Those attending will be able to walk the halls of the school, tour decade rooms created by the school’s Leadership Class, explore memorabilia, stop by the food truck station, and enjoy free local music performed by students and alumni.

They also teamed up with Waterfront Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt to sell limited edition Cafeteria Cookie Sundaes starting on May 14. Visit the parlour to enjoy!
A portion of proceeds from cookie sales will help support facilities and programs at the new high school.
