It was simple, really. A grown man wearing a Blue Jays hat just happened to be in the right place at at the right time when Yankees Aaron Judge crushed a 427-foot, sixth-inning home run Tuesday night in Toronto.

After catching the ball, he turned, saw a young boy in a Yankee hat AND Judge shirt, and gave him the ball. The boy burst out in tears and hugged the man.

The boy, Derek Rodriguez. The guy who caught the ball, Mike Lanzilotta, who says instinct kicked in and he just handed it over. Derek’s dad Caesar Rodriguez , is such a die hard Yankees fan that he name his son after the famous Yankee DEREK JETER.

After the game they brought Derek and Mike into the dug out to meet Aaron, and I’m a puddle
as it turns out, there can be crying in baseball
