[LISTEN] The PASTABILITIES Are Endless đ To Help Our Local Food Banks
October 4, 2023 7:16 amAs someone who was a committee member of the June 27th Miracle FOOD DRIVE , food insecurity in our communities is a problem I canât ignore.
The reality is hunger exists for those living in Windsor-Essex County. Last year, the UHC – HUB OF OPPORTUNIIES received over 190,000 visits collectively through the Windsor Essex Food Bank Association (representing 15 local food banks across Windsor-Essex). The need continues to grow as they’ve already seen a 28% increase in the number of children accessing our food banks in the first half of 2023 compared to 2022.
My friend JUNE MUIR, the CEO of the UHC – Hub of Opportunity is holding one of their biggest fundraisers of the year: The PASTABIITIES Luncheon, to help tackle hunger.
This is in partnership with the Culinary Federation of Windsor. Also on the show was Secondary school teacher and Canada’s Chef of the Year, (who is a woman AND from Windsor), ADELINA DEBLASIS.
