Mattingly Trims Those Sideburns

Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly had an interesting facial hair style for the team’s opening weekend of spring training.

Beard? Yes.

Sideburns? No way.

Seems like a reference to a Simpsons episode from 1992, when Mr. Burns demanded Mattingly shave his sideburns to play on the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team (a reference to the New York Yankees’ policy requiring players to be clean shaven).
