Wellness Wednesday – This One’s Personal
October 21, 2026 3:18 pmI don’t know if you’ve hit a certain age and all of a sudden, life feels different. There’s a heaviness you can’t explain. You’ve done good at keeping things buried. Or so you think. That hard “stuff” you’ve been through. You’ve managed to keep it from effecting you. Until you get older. Maybe it’s because life has slowed down and now you have time to process it.
Our conversation with Life’s Seasons Care & Support might help you understand why and what to do about it. We will continue our conversation next Wednesday.
“Sometimes it isn’t until life slows down or until we gain more life experience, that we have the opportunity to look back and make sense of what we’ve been through. The event hasn’t changed. But WE have.”
“Later on people often have a little more room to ask bigger questions. It’s not that you’re stuck in the past, sometimes you’re just trying to get curious about your own story.”
We are talking with Paul Skuza (General Manager of the Y in Sarnia) about all that Halloween candy that will come across our path in the next few weeks. How do we resist the tempation? Do we HAVE to say no to all of it? What’s the best way to tackle the temptation?
We’re back into routine, but now we’re facing holidays and temptations. Halloween is coming up quick.
Is there a way to find a balance between sticking to that routine and enjoying a few treats?
Yes.
Enjoying a few treats is not a big deal and won’t ruin your whole routine.
One or two a day as a treat is okay. Try to ration that candy.
Bring leftovers to your workplace if you can.
I like to buy my least favourite candy. (smile) Easier to resist something you don’t like.
Try not to cut it out completely to avoid slipping into a dangerous spot of eating all the candy.
Next week we talk about how to make eating healthy work for you.
